Fort Stewart Army Sgt. Shaquille Craig, 24, was charged with murdering two of his fellow Army members, Spc. Marquez Brown, 23, and Pvt. Malika Jackson, 21, in Hinesville, Georgia. An anonymous tip led to the discovery of their bodies on March 5, 2017. Sgt. Craig stands accused of shooting to death both Spc. Brown and Pvt. Jackson, one of them had a large knife in their throat. Hinesville Police Department report that Sgt. Craig has been arrested and charged with two counts of murder.

WO Tamayo was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve on behalf of the 202nd Military Intelligence Battalion in Fort Gordon, Georgia. According to the Department of Defense press release, the incident is under investigation.

Honoring Spc Hunter Kelly, US Army, who was found dead at another’s soldier’s home near Fort Stewart, Georgia on August 29, 2015. Peter Petri, also a US Army soldier, was charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct. Ryan Brown, another US Army soldier was also arrested for obstruction of a law enforcement officer. This case is under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Long County Sheriff’s Office. Military officials are cooperating.

Georgia Army National Guardsman Sgt. Ating Eminue Shot and Killed in Atlanta; Harold Dodson Found Guilty and Sentenced to Life in Prison, No Parole (2015)

Army Sgt. Ating Eminue was shot and killed outside a homeless shelter in Atlanta, Georgia on August 30, 2015. Harold Dodson was arrested and charged October 23rd in connection with the fatal shooting of the Georgia Army National Guardsman. A judge denied bond for Dodson in November 2015. Dodson had a history of crimes and made a living dealing drugs. He had five felony convictions before the age of 21. He will remain in jail while he awaits trial. In April 2017, the Fulton County prosecutor’s office announced Harold Dodson was found guilty and sentenced to life without the possibility of parole plus 30 years in prison. According to the family, Sgt. Eminue was a father and served three tours of duty in Afghanistan.

She was a former Clermont resident & former member of Clermont Bible Church. In 2006 she relocated to New Jersey & currently was a Sergeant in the US Army stationed at Fort Stewart.

Surviving is her mother Suzette Champoux of Clermont; father Denis Champoux, Centennial, CO; brothers Ian Champoux, Orlando & Noah Champoux, Winter Park & paternal grandparents Paul & Celine Champoux, Dover, FL.

The soldiers who came to the door in Florida told Beth Croft that her son was killed in a green-on-blue attack, but the only word that held any significance to her was “dead.”

It didn’t matter that an Afghan soldier had shot him while they monitored a local protest. Her only child, Sgt. Joshua Born, was gone forever.
