Six Unsolved Homicide Cases Affiliated with Fort Hood (January 1, 2016 to Present)

While investigators searched for Spc. Vanessa Guillen, the skeletal remains of Pvt. Gregory Wedel-Morales were found near Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. His mother, Kim Wedel, wishes investigators looked for her son like they did Guillen. He had been missing for ten months. Once former Fort Hood soldier Jorgina Butler read about the disappearance and death of Guillen, she said it returned her to the night she was sexually by a staff sergeant in 2009. On July 29, 2020, lawmakers plan to hold a congressional hearing in Washington D.C. focused on the review of Fort Hood’s handling of sexual misconduct in the wake of a national outcry for justice for Guillen and her family. –Austin American-Statesman (July 28, 2020)

  1. I’m looking for some help, I have a case that I took all the way to the secretary of the army for being removed from service for a disability in my FAD I won 3 out of the 4 items named. Now they don’t want to do anything. They don’t want to pay me my back pay, or bring to the light the officials that worked in EEO who lied and made things harder in Maneuvering the system to get someone to help me. I’ve been waiting 4 and a half years and am still being treated like I did something wrong; when in fact they removed me from service. You know the cap is $300,000 for compensatory damage. Then they want you to prove what the secretary of the army says you already proved all over again to string you along to never pay you. To not do what was in the fad for extra training and who really relooks at the people in the positions that get to sit there ana string folks along in the first place? AFG union doesn’t help, no one from the hospital higher ups help. EEO can’t ever give you a name or phone number of a person to speak with so you can see where your case is. So then you deal with people like me, who hunt and search for names, emails, phone numbers to find out a possible scrap of information. Then once you find out they did side with you, they drag there feet and argue about how much to give you. Offer you a job back knowing if you did accept it you would have a target on your back for tying your shoe the wrong way. I have documents and tons of emails and paperwork to prove that you are nothing on this post and when you file a disability discrimination suite they are shocked when they loose. These folks sit in these offices for years doing the same job. Taking their vacation making up a few new rules as they go, and you have to abide by them because they are in 3 Corp and you are nothing but a lonely flag flying in the wind all alone trying to maneuver a very broken system that doesn’t care about its shoulders and civilian; only it’s bottom dollar.
